Prior to Stratique, Micah led worldwide business development for AOL as SVP of Strategy and Business Development. Micah supervised a team of more than 80 professionals responsible for identifying, structuring, negotiating and closing more than 2,000 agreements per year across a wide range of territories, platforms, industries and deal paradigms (including technology, distribution, syndication, commerce, content, marketing, and strategic partnerships). Prior to AOL, Micah handled a broad range of commercial matters as a litigator at the international law firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey – with a focus on business torts, contracts, and media law. Micah earned his J.D. at Columbia Law School. He lives in Leesburg, Virginia with his wife and two daughters. Over the past 10 years, Tom has held senior positions within business development, M&A, strategy, and operations teams. He most recently served as Vice President of Business Development at AOL where he directed business development and partnership activities supporting core consumer experiences including portals, communications, social networking, voice, video and other key assets reaching 95M monthly users and delivering over $300M in annual revenues. Additionally, Tom led numerous key initiatives, including the acquisitions of Weblogs (the foundation for AOL’s current content business). Tom also played a critical role in crafting the “Open Web” strategy – central to AOL’s go-forward business. Prior to AOL, Tom was head of business development for a B2B start-up in the procurement industry, responsible for developing sales channels and anchor customers. Tom started his career in the investment banking and interactive divisions of Friedman, Billings, Ramsey. Tom earned degrees in economics and politics from Washington & Lee and presently lives in Potomac, MD with his wife and son.
